Description

This is a RARE original circa 1930’s era 8.25 x 10 inch publicity portrait of Hollywood starlet, ARLEEN WHELAN in a striking light and shadow pose that accentuates her voluptuous beauty. An early cheesecake style glamour view for 20th Century Fox Studio’s. Whelan appeared in 25 films between 1937 and 1957, reportedly after 20th Century Fox director H. Bruce Humberstone saw Whelan working as a manicurist in a barber shop. After her screen test, the studio cast her as the female lead in the film version of Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Kidnapped” (1938). The photo is in EXCELLENT condition with minor wear.
