Description

This is a RARE original circa 1940-41, 8 x 10 inch full length publicity portrait of 18 year old starlet, ANNE BAXTER in the glamorous glow of her first portrait sitting with 20th Century Fox Studio’s. She portrays a youthful sophistication and elegance in this seated glamour view taken by photographer, FRANK POWOLNY. I believe this was publicity for the 20th Century Fox film, “THE GREAT PROFILE”. Anne Baxter proved to be a tenacious performer, winning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1947 for her role as Sophie MacDonald in Edmund Goulding’s, “The Razor’s Edge”. In 1951, she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for the title role in Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s “All About Eve”. She also worked with several of Hollywood’s greatest directors, including Alfred Hitchcock in “I Confess” (1953), Fritz Lang in “The Blue Gardenia” (1953) and Cecil B. DeMille in “The Ten Commandments” (1956). The photo is in EXCELLENT condition. I do combine shipping on multiple items.
