This is a RARE original 7.25 x 9.25 inch full length publicity portrait of model and actress, MARGUERITE HAYES showing of those gorgeous gams in a beach themed pin-up pose. Publicity for her uncredited role in Alfred Hitchcocks 1942 film-noir spy thriller, “SABOTEUR” (David O. Selznick Production). Portrait by HAL McALPHIN. Photographers Stamp on verso. Using the name Dana Dale she found work as a model and was featured in the best cigarette, automobile and fashion advertisements. Her modeling career lead to a screen test for the role of Scarlett O’Hara in “Gone with the Wind” (1939). She was unsuccessful, but still received a movie contract with Warner Bros. Publicists at her studio recommended Dana Edwards as a better name for movies, so she began using it. Eventually, she changed her name to Margaret Hayes for publicity purposes. The model turned actress became one of the many famous pin-up beauties in Hollywood during the WWII era. The photo is in VERY FINE condition with minor corner wear.
