Description

This is a RARE original 8 x 10 inch publicity portrait of actress, MARGARET FIELD comes face to face with the Space-Suited Humanoid (who speaks in musical tones) in the isolated, fog-shrouded Scottish moor. Publicity for United Artists 1951 “B” grade sci-fi film, “THE MAN FROM PLANET X”. The film went into production in Dec.13/1950 at Hal Roach Studio’s in Culver City, California and wrapped principal photography six days later. In order to save money, the film was shot using sets from the 1948 Ingrid Bergman film, “Joan of Arc”, using artificial fog to change moods, plot locations, and to hide the lack of backdrops and staged landscapes for the outdoor scenes. Aliens that can communicate using only modulated musical sounds was a concept that Director, Steven Spielberg would use three decades later in his film, “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” (1977). The photo is in VERY FINE condition with minor wear. Definitely, the Best Shot from the film! I do combine shipping on multiple items. Shipping in Canada and the USA is 12.00. (I take my packaging and shipping very seriously, see my feedback) I will also ship Internationally, Tracked Packet-International for 40.00. Payment is due within 7 days of auction ending.
Please Note: I do not make money on shipping charges and will refund the difference.
