This is a VERY RARE original circa 1958, 8 x 10 inch fashion portrait of pin-up model, showgirl and “B” film bombshell, MARA CORDAY showing off her cheesecake curves modeling a sexy striped swimsuit. Portrait by BERNARD of HOLLYWOOD. Photographers Stamp on verso. Date Stamped Apr.8, 1958. Publicity for her last film as night club owner, Vera Parkinson in Universal Pictures crime noir, “GIRLS ON THE LOOSE” which was released in the USA in April of 1958. Later that year she became Playboy Playmate of the Month in October 1958. “Girls on the Loose” would mark the last film she made before retiring from the silver screen to focus on her personal life and family. She would return to film, but only in small supporting roles which featured her friend, Clint Eastwood. She was best known and later gained cult status for her roles in three “B” grade Sci-Fi/Horror films, “Tarantula” (1955), “The Giant Claw” and “The Black Scorpion” (both in 1957).
