This is a RARE original circa 1952, 8 x 10 inch Department of Defense photo of actress and “Varga Girl” pin-up, IRISH McCALLA posing with recovering G.I’s backstage after a Hollywood Varieties Show at an unidentified theater (descriptive caption has faded). Department of Defense caption printed on verso. Date Stamped, Oct.11, 1952. A lovely shot of the voluptuous Irish McCalla elegantly attired and doing her patriotic duty for the recovering serviceman during the Korean War. She is best known during the 1950’s as a “Alberto Vargas” pin-up model and for her role in the television series, “Sheena, Queen of the Jungle”. The photo is in VERY FINE condition with minor corner wear. I do combine shipping on multiple items. Shipping in Canada and the USA is 12.00.
